Unit 19: Present Tenses (I am doing / I do) for the Future

A. Present Continuous (I am doing)

Present Continuous

Present Continuous

  • вже вирішені;

  • Ben is playing tennis on Monday afternoon.
  • I’m going to the cinema tomorrow.
  • We’re meeting Katherine at the station at half past ten.

What are you doing tonight?
What will you do tonight?

    I’m tired. I’m going to bed now.
Are you ready? Yes, I’m coming.

B. Present Simple (I do)

Present Simple

Present Simple

  • My train leaves at 11:30.
  • The film starts at 8:15.
  • The meeting is at nine o’clock tomorrow.

  • I start my new job on Monday.
  • What time do you finish work tomorrow?

Present Continuous:

  • What time are you meeting Kate tomorrow? (Не кажемо: do you meet.)

C. Порівняння Present Continuous і Present Simple

Present Continuous Present Simple
What time are you arriving? What time does the train arrive?
I’m going to the cinema this evening. The film starts at 8:15.

D. Використання “I have” або “I’ve got” для запланованих подій

  • I have…
  • I’ve got…

  • I have an exam next week. = I’ve got an exam next week.

Заплановані особисті дії I’m meeting Kate tomorrow.
