✅ A. Коли не використовуємо артикль “the”
Ми не використовуємо “the” з іменами людей, країн, континентів, міст і більшості географічних назв.
1. Імена людей
- Helen, Helen Taylor (не the Helen, the Helen Taylor)
- Mr Johnson, Doctor Smith, President Johnson (не the Mr Johnson)
- Uncle Robert, Saint Catherine, Queen Elizabeth (не the Queen Elizabeth)
Приклад:
- We called Doctor Johnson. (Ми викликали доктора Джонсона.)
- We met Queen Elizabeth. (Ми зустріли королеву Єлизавету.)
2. Континенти, країни, штати, острови та міста

3. Озера і гори
Перед назвами озер і гір не використовуємо артикль “the”:

2. З множинними назвами людей і місць
Використовуємо “the” перед назвами груп людей або місць у множині:

1. З артиклем “the”
Використовується, коли говоримо про частини країни або регіону:
